We don't repeat the Group Start Divider Caption in the Role field anymore, do we?

No... we don't. It will show up anyway when you click on the names.

We shouldn't use empty dividers, then.

* Use Episode dividers for TV show episodes, distinct films, or other logical episodic distinction.

A gap is not an episode, distinct film or other logical episodic distinction.

Also use episode dividers for full cast division, such as "Japanese Voices".

A gap is not a full cast division, such as "Japanese Voices".

* Use Group dividers to designate cast grouped in the credits such as "Soldiers" or "Additional Cast".

A gap is not a group role.

* "Cast", "In order of appearance" or other similar headers at the start of the credits should not be entered.

A gap is not similar to "Cast", "In order of appearance".

* Also use Group dividers for crew teams, included only if the crew meets the other listing requirements.

A gap is not a crew team.

The only header it lists to exclude is generic header at the start of the credits.  If the credit has a subheader later on down in the credits stating "Introducing", I would say that is allowed by the current rules.

"Introducing" is not a subheader. It generally precedes one actor's name. It is not similar to "Cast" or "In order of appearance".

@ James, thanks for saving me some extra key strokes.  Needless to say, I agree with him.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Yup, gotta agree with everyone that's saying they wouldn't put an empty divider in. I don't believe the rules imply to use an empty divider in anyway, and I'd vote no on a contribution like that if it came through.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

I think we have here the same phenomenon that for overviews, titles and names : rules, in general, ask to reproduce "as on screen" and contributors try with text, bold, italics, and now with dividers to do as near possible as as a screencapture.

A database is interesting with functions as linking, sorting, filtering, and this frensy to just reproduce what is on screen is the origin of the global mess of something which is now only a collection of data. This collection cannot reproduce screens as can do screencaptures, but it is unable to bring exact information. The fear of the old ping-ponging lead to this nonsense where quality of data is abandoned to the fantasy of reproducing what is on screen, which contributors take as a religion without trying to give correct information.

So we get typos in overviews, titles as "T4xi", non linking names, and now empty dividers in middle of cast...

Only one solution left : lock all field of all profiles, and skip all updates, to avoid to corrupt local data by the mess of the online.

What is funny is to see here people against empty dividers that are OK to reproduce typos in overviews or enter fictitious names for cast and crew. But consistency is not easy to find in Invelos world.
