Didn't Charmed have a un-aired pilot? I haven't spun the DVD for some time. I may be thinking of another show.

What was up with The Dead Zone's pilot. I know you had to mail away for it when you got season one, but I can't remember if it was unaired or not.

The Dead Zone had an unaired pilot and an aired pilot. As with Heroes or Birds of Prey, they were similar, but parts of the story changed and someone got recast, so that had to do a bunch of reshoots. Some sets also have unaired pilots for spin-offs, like Aquaman in the Season 5 Smallville set (Best Buy only) or The Greatest American Heroine on The Greatest American Hero Season 1. Personally, I think these should be profiled, especially if they have their own disc.

That's what it was. Buffy had an unaired pilot, too, but I don't know if it ever hit DVD.

Agreed that they should be profiled.

If Charmed had an unaired pilot, it wasn't included with the dutch release.

To bad, it had other actors that didn't make it to the aired show.

The un-aired pilot I seen may have just been clips of it in the special features and not the entire pilot episode.

From what I understand the only way you could get the Charmed Unaired Pilot is if you bought that big complete series set in the "Book of Shadows" case. I had already bought all the season setrs... and I have a copy of the unaired pilot recorded... so I didn't bother upgrading.

I could be completely nuts here.... and have it all wrong... but wouldn't Unaired Pilots fall under this rule for TV Series...

TV Series Rule Quote:
Quote:
Complete Series/Season & Anthologies of Episodes:

Enter Cast and Crew for each episode using standard rules, and insert dividers to separate each episode's credit list from the others. Do not list Cast and Crew outside of the dividers even if they are credited in all episodes.

Enter the episode number and title in the divider that marks the beginning of that episode's credit list. The divider should be formatted as "1. Episode Title", or "Episode 1" if no title is available.

Take the episode title from the episode itself, or from elsewhere on the DVD or DVD packaging, exactly as shown. If all episode titles are entirely capitalized, use standard capitalization rules instead. If the episodes are listed with quotes around each title, exclude the quotes.

If the DVD or DVD packaging specifically numbers the episodes, use that number in the divider. Otherwise, episodes are to be numbered sequentially in the order that they appear on the DVD(s) in the set, with the number sequence carrying over from disc to disc. Do not number non-episodic features such as movies or alternate cuts unless they are given specific numbers on the DVD or DVD packaging.

See the part of the rule I put in bold... especially what I put in red. Wouldn't this fall under that rules?

This is a rule about how to number episodes, not whether to list them.

But if I am not mistaken that shows that you do list them... or why else would you need to know how to number them?

Maybe it's reading too much into the rules, but it would certainly work for me. For my personal documentation, I always used the number 0 for unaired pilots.

Btw, I just remembered the other show that included one, Dollhouse. But it is also not listed in the proflle.

I think this still requires that they be included as part of the set, rather than a bonus feature.  I am thinking of things like 'Razor', the TV movie, being included as part of the BSG Season set.  As it wasn't part of the series, it wouldn't get a number, but would still get listed as part of the profile.
