I really do not believe that is the same thing. Where you have the English cast... and then the Japanese cast... it is 2 sets of FULL cast credits. Not Main cast and rest of cast division. That is how I read it at least.

Absolutely. It was added to the rules to separate different cast lists for a whole movie.

The rules for episode dividers is...

Quote:
Use Episode dividers for TV show episodes, distinct films, or other logical episodic distinction. Also use episode dividers for full cast division, such as "Japanese Voices".

So I must ask Ken to clarify... because as the rule is written now I would vote no to such a thing.

I will admit that I am playing with semantics here.  Is it the division of two complete cast lists, which is how you are reading it, or a complete division of the cast, which is the way I am using it?  Clearly the example given points to your line if thinking.  It does not, however, preclude mine.

I am asking for clarification from Ken... Till then I feel comfortable with voting no.

Well, it had to happen eventually.  We couldn't go along agreeing on everything forever.  If you can wait for the good doctor to return my Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, we can duel it out the next new moon.

If this is added (which the rules allow for), this should be a group divider and not an episode divider.

That would really look terrible Ken... then the majority of the cast would be indented in the cast list... and.. we would have the majority of the cast when clicking on a name look like..

In Alphabetical Order: Role Name

I for one would hate to see this!

Could you explain?  I mean it really isn't there to indicate a different group of cast, just divide the main cast from the rest of the cast.

Edit:  Oh wait, I think I figured it out.  This would be similar to "Additional Cast" yes?

I see myself locking a whole lot of cast lists in the future... and limiting my contributions of cast as well.

Yes.

Why? I said only that it is allowed by the rules.  The rules specifically call out the example of using group dividers for "Additional Cast". I'm not sure why this is so different?

An easy solution to this is to insert a group end divider directly after the group start divider.  The cast list is then not indented, and the credit listing in the credit info window shows only the role.

That was why... it just looked terrible. It is one thing for actual groups... that makes sense and looks good... but didn't like the look for something like this.

On this we can agree...which is why I use the other divider.  Simple enough to change after I contribute, though.

I would never do this.  It adds no value (for me) and looks awful.
