Your scans should be accepted Goblin, and the user voting no based on that he doesn't mind the wrong UPC should have his voting priveleges withdrawn.

Wrong! goblinsdoitall should get some more praxis with his scanner and contribute a scan from the correct release which is of better (or at least par) quality than the existing one. Voting no to a substandard quality cover scan is not against any voting rules regardless whether the existing cover may have the wrong UPC or not.

Wrong, Rho. The Rule is the rules, and it clearly states that the UPC MUST match the image. But this is now academic since it was accepted. So, perhaps YOU can do a better sxcan with the correct UPC. That would be better than encouraging ignoring the Rule and i have no doubt that IF you can do better that goblins be only too happy to vote for it.

Skip

I have already stated that the original scan should not have been accepted. And since I do not own the title, I can't scan the cover. But anybody has the right to vote no to a cover contribution, if the quality is substandard no matter what kind of image is already in the database. That's the only point I have made because Berak has stated that voting no is not allowed and he even wanted to take away the voting privilege of the voter. And this would IMO is not the way Invelos is handling these kind of voting on cover contributions.

BTW Since I don't own the title, I do not vote for it.

No, I'm sorry, but you're wrong.  According to the Rules it is a violation of your voting privileges to vote no on a contribution which replaces incorrect data (the existing image is incorrect) with correct data (the new image is the correct image).

The fact that you don't like the quality of the image is irrelevant.  It is replacing bad data with good data.

If a user is following the Contribution Rules and his/her data is accurate, and the contribution replaces data which is inaccurate or violates these Contribution Rules, a "No" vote is considered an abuse of the voting privilege

You are right, I have missed this part of the rules

In fact I have never seen this cover. As stated I do not own this DVD. But goblinsdoitall has stated himself that he does not yet master his new scanner. Therefore my advise to get more praxis with his scanner and recontribute.

As I've seen the screeners also know this part of the rules.  The contribution was approved and released.

Ok, but quali really was not the best.    What scanner are you using?

You start

BTW: I always thought the plural of chicken was chicken. But my old english teacher might have been wrong here, or I misunderstood him (which was quite easy, he came from Scotland).
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
