| Posted: | | | | I understand that Skip... I am just trying to get you to understand that...
1. Not everyone agrees with you that this is such a minor thing. 2. This happens more often then you originally thought it did
You don't think this is a big enough deal... I understand and respect that. But it seems like instead of just accepting we don't agree and respecting my opinion on it... you are instead trying to change my mind about the whole thing... which I can assure you isn't possible.
In your opinion there is bigger fish to fry first... but in my opinion this is a biggie... one of my absolute top wishes for profiling TV Series better. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Personally i don't see the usefullness of a 'play all' button. I never use it. Mainly because i never watch an entire disc so i just select the episode i want to watch and the next day watch the next episode.
I wouldn' tmind adding it though.

Paul That's where I'm at. Never have used it actually. |

| Posted: | | | | I dont understand the usefulness of the request, why is this important to know? Does it really effect anyones viewing or buying habits? When theres a Play All button i use it, but its not really of any importance to anything, just a convinience. Like DVD asking your language when you put the DVD in. | | | Last edited: by whispering |

| Posted: | | | | That is where we differ Paul... not only do I watch a disc at a time... I am huge on marathon watching. Like I just watched all 4 seasons of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman within approximately 2 weeks. I have such marathons all the time... and let me tell you it is a big pain to have to go back to the menu after each episode.
While the Play-All feature is not something that would stop me from purchasing something... it has (several times) stopped me from watching a marathon I was in the mood to watch just because I didn't want to deal with it at that time. So yes Whispering it does in fact effect my viewing habits.
While it may effect me more then most people you have to admit there is many people that do want this information. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Again, I have to agree with addicted on all accounts.
As for general usefulness: Studios and Media Companies have no impact on my buying habits whatsoever. If I want a film, I have no choice from which Studio it comes and rarely a choice of the Media Company (and even then I decide by aspects other than the MC). Yet there are already 6 drop downs for this kind of information.
So why not grant us this small checkbox? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I don't have a problem with either adding it to Other Features for now or adding a tick box for it in some future upgrade. I just don't see that it's significant information. Pete, are you saying that you would determine which TV series to watch based on whether or not it has a Play All option? I can't imagine myself chosing to watch show A over show B just because I can watch the whole disk of B without having to make a few more menu selections. But that's just me. Besides, with Play All in force, I'd have to hit the pause between shows for things like bathroom breaks, snack runs to the kitchen, etc. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? | Posted: | | | | YES Ken... AT TIMES it will effect what I watch. Not in a normal watching mode mind you (watching a disc here and there) but when I do watch in a Marathon Viewing (which I do a lot!) where I am watching 2 to 3 discs in one day this does come into my decision making.
As for snacks runs and bathroom breaks and such. Normally I watch shows where there is 4 episodes at about 45min each. That is only approximately 3 hours per disc. I do such things between discs not between episodes. | | | Pete |

But you could be missing out on some really good series in marathon mode just to save a couple of mouse (or DVD player remote) clicks if there's no Play All option. It just doesn't seem to me to be much trouble to watch episode 1, then click on episode 2, watch it, etc. Granted it's less automatic, but it should take less than a minute between episodes. To each his own, obviously. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges. | Posted: | | | | purely aggravation factor Ken... I just got so sick and tired of it early on that I got to the point to where I said the Hell with it.
Plus I never said I never do marathons of these titles any more... just that if it bothers me at the time I will skip it at choose another title. Just like before the last marathon I had a marathon of NCIS and they do not have Play All. It is just a matter of my mood when I want to watch something. If I am in a aggravated mood already I will put off the series I want to watch until another time. My point was that such a thing does indeed effect my viewing habits at times. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Well, Pete, you could achieve your objective with a Play All Tag. Maybe a bit clunky but it would work.

| Posted: | | | | Oh I can do that just fine... and plan on doing that for now since there is just as many (slightly more by this poll) that does not want it.
But I do think enough people wants this to make it a legitimate feature request. | | | Pete |

While it may effect me more then most people you have to admit there is many people that do want this information. I recently watched all 3 available seasons of Psych in quick succesion sometimes watching 3 episodes in a row but still i didn't use the play all feature present because i watched the deleted scenes after each episode. But again, i wouldn't mind having this feature present in a profile so if it's added that's fine by me. Paul |
