| Posted: | | | | Although I do note that the cast member in a group is still identified in the database under the role of that group. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to explain the finer differences? |

| Posted: | | | | I agree in concept with pompel.. I believe it is too messy but I keep that aspect locally. So i contribute and remove. God forbid users like Rho should actually modify their own local database to conform to ther own requirements.

| Posted: | | | | The divider is a sequential element, not a hierarchical one. It has no relation to other credit entries that is supported by DVDProfiler itself. In short, for DVDProfiler its function is decorative only. It may look nicer to omit the roles and use a group header - if you just want to marvel at the beauty of a single profile's cast list, that is. As soon as you actually try do something with the data you gathered, it breaks. That's true for episode dividers as well, btw. You have to use 3rd party tools like my Credits Plus to create a relationship between dividers and regular credit entries. DVDProfiler itself doesn't utilize them. | | | Matthias |

What exactly does the online collection *do* with dividers? Except for showing them in a different style than regular entries. And the main database?? But maybe you mean the appliance of a different style on the Voting and Contributions forms there as well. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | How should the groups in the following cast list be credited?
I currently have a divider for Dolphins and each person credited as playing Dolphin (should there be a divider?) The two groups of themselves individually credited as Himself (no divider). A divider of The Teams followed by a divider for each team with the individuals listed under the appropriate team name divider and credited as the team name.
This has not been submitted yet. Thanks for suggestions.
The credits look approximately like this . . (omitted credits) . Dolphins Nigel Miguel Kevin Walker Steve Guild Mitchell Butler Ricky Collier Phil Glenn Dwayne Hackett Byron Jenson Richard Petruska Dennis Tracey Sean Williams Ricky's Father Jim Beaver Ricky's Mother Debbie Young Dolphin Mascot Tony Gonzalez Themselves Todd Donoho Dick Vitale Charlie Frank Anthony Rossi . .(omitted credits) . Themselves Jim Boeheim Dick Baker Marty Blake Lou Campanelli Jerry Tarkanian
The Teams Indiana Texas Western Coast Ryan Berning Eric Anderson Darin D. Archbold Kiambu Fisher Calbert Cheaney Demetrius Calip Keith J. Gibbs Dan Godfried Sam Crawford Thomas Hill Greg Graham Billy Douglass Allan Houston Joe Hillman Rick Fox Sasha Hupman Bobby Hurley Carlos Jackson Adonis Jordan Geert Hammick Daric Keys Matt Painter Jamal Meeks Matt Lien Mark Raveling Chris Reynolds George D. | Posted: | | | | Nigel Miguel ... Dolphins Team Member etc. ... Dolphins Team Member Todd Donoho ... Himself Dick Vitale ... Himself Jim Boeheim ... Himself etc. ... Himself The Team: XXXName ... XXX Team Member Although the above roles are not exactly as credited, it's the only sensible representation as single group members are not playing a real Dolphin, Indian, Texas Western or Coast and also can not be " themselves". PS. I already asked more or less the same question in this thread but almost nobody seemed to agree with the above... so it's just my opinion, nothing more. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

That's a complicated one greyghost! From what you've described though, I think you've got it the same way I'd have done it. |

If we all give each other some liberty in threating these kind of credits, it will not be so "complicated". | | | Martin Zuidervliet

| Posted: | | | | No, it's complicated because of the mixture of credits under headings and individual credits. I wasn't even thinking of the "as credited" rule. |
