What Dreams May Come is gorgeous; I'm looking forward to the HD.

Yeah, that is a sumptuous film.

Manhattan (my favorite movie) - incredible NYC visuals

Thanks for the tip.  I'll have yo look into it.

Now these aren't suggestions, but rather enquiries.  Do either of the following two movies "fit the bill"?
Marie Antoinette
Gangs of New York
Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!)

What Dreams May Come is pretty as ever on HD, but it's a bit on the soft side, so it doesn't (IMO) make a great demo disc.

The softness is intentional as the director I believe mentions on the commentary.

Holy delayed reply Batman!

Erik, I love Stalker!  Unfortunately, being so long, and not everyone's cup of tea (so not always the best to share), I rarely get to re-watch it.  The City of Lost Children is on (relative to everything else) a high rotation for me.  That and The Dark Crystal are movies I won't tire of.

Earlier today I was thinking how much Silent Hill relies on its visuals.  Apparently there's a sequel in the works, which makes me happy.  From the trailers, Dark Floors looks to have a similar aesthetic.

Oh, and I finally watched Marie Antoinette.  Although it was lovely eye-candy, I didn't care for the movie.

Skip, if you read the opening of Erik's post immediately after Ken's, the softness isn't such a bad thing.

I don't know how many would have seen it, and it's certainly not in the same category as many of these movies, but for a visually unique film, the anime Kai Doh Maru is worth a watch.  The palette is best described as watercolours.

I don't believe that this title is on Blu Ray or HD, but Kenneth Branaghs' "Hamlet" is BEAUTIFUL
