All flelds "Complete and Correct", with the exception of cast and crew, which must be correct but may be incomplete. I agree with this. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

I agree with this. If your choice becomes popular enough to challenge either of the other top two choices, I'll redo the poll. As it is now, this thing isn't even close and a clear winner seems eminent. | | | Dan | | | Last edited: by Dan W |

As it is now, this thing isn't even close and a clear winner seems eminent. Only reason one is runing away is because people fear the crew section and won't make sure that is 100% accurate. This poll was run a bit pre-mature without taking into account all the options. My opinion of course. When the poll was first created, I understand one of the current options was even left out. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

Now if I want, I can type one sentence of the overview, as long as it is correct, you cannot vote no.
Is this what we really want? | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

For overview, title, audio and video formats, disc IDs and such, anything else but complete and correct makes no sense. Some fields only have one item, and there "complete" has no meaning. However for cast and particularly crew, improvements can be brought in piece by piece. That's why this is a collaborative effort (IMNSHO). My view entirely. Usually if I'm contributing something I try and double-check EVERYTHING, but I wouldn't expect everyone to do that. | | | Guns don't kill people. Hammers do. |

Is this what we really want? I think if someone were so inclined, the rest of us would be compelled to vote no to that contribution because it is clearly intended to make a point of some sort and has nothing to do with making an acceptable contribution. | | | Dan |

Is this what we really want? From the Overview rules: "Overviews should match the back of the DVD case exactly" For Overview, the rules state that it must match which leads to think that it must match exactly. I.e.: complete text. I understood the poll to apply to the sections where the rules do not state that everything must be included. |

I understood the poll to apply to the sections where the rules do not state that everything must be included. The rules also state for overview that you are to make sure that all words that appear in bold or italics are idenetified with the "" characters. Not just the oens that you think should be idnetified. If you are going to edit a simple field (everything but cast/crew) you should be required to verify that all of it is correct according to the rules. No ifs, and or buts. Of course, we're stearing away from that now. I see the contribuion count climbing so that a 5 sentence overview can be correct as each oerson only does one line and leaves the others to other people to complete. We're saying that being lazy is okay. If you're going to be that lazy, why even attempt it in the first place? | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

I think the overview counts as one field, the title is one field, cast is made up of several fields, crew is made up of several fields. It's just the way I see it. I think the rules already cover the circumstances and none of this would even be an issue if Skip hadn't gone off on one. People voting no is now blackmail? He's losing it. | | | Guns don't kill people. Hammers do. |

All flelds "Complete and Correct", with the exception of cast and crew, which must be correct but may be incomplete. I agree with this. Otherwise where do we stand? Would half an overview be Ok? If you changed "Alfrod Hotchkick" to "Alfrod Hitchcock" would that be Ok since the part you changed is actually Ok? To me, cast and crew are collection of entries, where each name/role pair is an entity into itself. And the entire overview is a single entity. Each entity should be complete and correct. And I guess that's basically what Hal is saying. Edit: Kevin said the same thing while I was typing... :-\ Edit 2: I voted "Change Must Be Complete and Correct", because the above is my definition of a change (i e one name/role is one change) | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Is this what we really want? If you do not remove anything existing from the overview, yes, that would be correct. Removing something valid would of course be a new error, therefore no. |
