| Posted: | | | | We lost! I have to say, the referee, Webb, was one of the worst of the tournament. He really succumbed to the pressure applied by Spanish media after the announcement was made he was going to referee
Every duel was ended by a Spanish free-kick, preferably with a yellow card as well. The goal was offside as well. But that seems to happen often for the Spanish (see the goal against Paraguay).
Yes, they were better in possession, although they didn't create many chances. Robben could, and should, have decided the game twice, and the second time the referee should have given a foul when he didn't Puyol was holding his shirt and swinging his legs across, if that isn't a foul i don't know what is!

Paul ?????? I don't know which game you saw, what I saw was that a clear red card for de Jong wasn't given (this kick was not any better than the head-but of Zidane) and a penalty for Spain was denied ... So all in all, yes it was a terrible referee but Oranje should be among the last to complain. Especially since in the first half this team only seemed to find one instrument to break the dominance of the Spanish team: Unnecessary Roughness. The second half became somewhat fairer, but that was to be expected since the half of the Netherland team already had yellow cards. It needed the prolongation to show that both teams in fact could play football too, and in the end the better playing team won. Congratulations Spain!! Ohh, and the goal wasn't offsides | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
