Yeah... it definitely makes next year harder.... I would even say near impossible. Of course I will still give it my best... but just don't know how I would top this year!

Outsourced: Season 1
Outsourced is set in a Mumbai, India call center, where an American novelties company has recently outsourced its order processing. A lone American manages the call center and must explain American popular culture to his employees as he comes to understand Indian culture.

Episode Watched:
Bolloween
Todd attempts to explain Halloween to his co-workers; Tonya makes a pass at Todd during a costume party.

My Thoughts:
This is a new show this season. One that has been a bit hit and miss for me. There has been a few laughs but I don't know... there is something about it. Something that is making it hold my attention. The Halloween episode last night was pretty good though. There was a couple decent laughs on it... and I did get a kick out of some of the costumes.

My Rating: 3.5/5

After Spending the last seventeen years as a wife and a mother, recently divorced Jules (Cox) has reluctantly waded back into the dating pool and quickly finds herself in over her head. Now forty-something and single, Jules tackles real-life issues - dating, parenting and friendship. It doesn't help Jules that her two best friends can hardly stand each other, her ex-husband is hanging around more now than he did during their marriage...and there's that handsome divorced neighbor that Jules can't quite get out of her head.

Episode Watched:
You Don't Know How It Feels
Jules' father visits and hits it off with Grayson; Laurie reminds Travis how fun Halloween can be.

My Thoughts:
This show I do usually enjoy quite a bit. This one did fall a little short for me though. I was definitely expecting better costumes from this gang. And the story was only semi-entertaining.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete Sixth Season
Elated with having Buffy back from the dead, her friends never wonder if she may have been in a better place. Only Spike knows the truth and as Buffy struggles to readjust to life, she begins a relationship with Spike that torments her as much as it brings her fleeting comfort. Yet even as Buffy fears that the magic that brought her back has somehow changed her, Willow's growing reliance on magic is an addiction she can barely control - and one that threatens everyone.

Episode Watched:
All the Way
Dawn lies to Buffy and goes out with a boy on Halloween, but when the boy turns out to be a vampire ignoring the Halloween-no-killing rule, Buffy and the guys must save her...again.

My Thoughts:
If I am not mistaken... this is the last Halloween episode of Buffy.... at least I don't remember a Halloween episode in the final season. It was a fun episode... and I have to admit... Anya looked might fine in her Charlie's Angels costume! Another episode I really enjoyed.

My Thoughts:
I usually save this one for Halloween day... but I found myself with a strong urge to watch it first thing this morning... so figured why not.

This is of course the classic horror that started it all. I think it could be arguably said this is one of the best slasher movies out there. Carpenter really did fine work... the atmosphere in this one is great. I loved Jamie Lee Curtis in this movie... and enjoyed Donald Pleasence as well... this is the first movie that I ever seen him in. This is one of the few movies I couldn't see being any better then it is. And to think it was done on such a small budget in such a short time period. While it would be hard for me to believe... if there is any horror fan out there that never seen this movie... I highly recommend checking it out ASAP!

Episode Watched:
HALLOWEEN CANDY
A mean old man learns a hard lesson about tricks and treats when he doesn't play nice on Halloween.

My Thoughts:
I am new to this series... finished off the first season for the first time just earlier this month. I normally like to watch shows I never seen before in order... but where this is more of an anthology series I felt I could make an exception and skip ahead to the second season Halloween episode. This is one I enjoyed quite a bit... I especially liked the unexpected consequences of the ending.

Title: Summer of Fear  (AKA: Stranger in Our House)

Linda Blair
Lee Purcell

Plot:
From famed horror master Wes Craven comes a chilling thriller starring acclaimed actress Linda Blair!

Casting an alluring spell over everyone she meets, Julia slowly lures everyone away from Rachel. Terrifying instances of the occult begin to take place, forcing Rachel to fight for survival against what is revealed to be a horrifying demonic presence!

Extras:
Scene Access
Audio Commentary
Bonus Trailers
Production Notes
Closed Captioned

My Thoughts:
This is actually an old TV Movie. Yes I realize there is an MPAA rating above for this movie... but it is one of those rare occasions where a TV Movie put through the MPAA for an official rating at the time of it's DVD release. Another familiar face in this movie is Fran Drescher (The Nanny) who has a small part as Rachel's friend. Surprisingly she don't have that nasally voice in this that she is now so famously known for. Which makes watching her in this a little more bearable. This is actually one of the few movies I have dealing with witchcraft... at least compared to other horror sub-genres. Being a '70s TV movie there is of course no type of gore and most of the bad things that happens occur off screen. But it is a good story with characters you care about. I enjoyed this one quite a bit... I would recommend checking it out.

My Rating: 4/5

Congrats on making it Addicted!!!!!!!!!

I totally stalled once I started my new job. 14 hour work days at least a few times during the week just don't leave a whole lot of time for movie watching unfortunately!!!

Oh, and Halloween? Best goddamn horror movie ever made (only my opinion of course). It's just brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. That's how horror movies should be made again. No more of this huge budgeted special effects stuffed remake crap that's being turned out over and over these days (I literally will never forgive Rob Zombie for destroying the franchise with his absolutely disgustingly terrible remakes, or Tom Welling for his part in the remake of The Fog, one of the worst films I've ever seen...  ). Get back to the basics. Come up with a few new ideas. Sure, it's all been done, that doesn't mean it can't be presented in new ways.

Actually, not only do I feel Halloween is the best horror movie ever made, I actually would rank it as one of the best films, regardless of genre, ever made. It's literally just perfect. Definitely one of my favorite films ever. Gonna try and watch it tomorrow. We'll have to see if I have the time!
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

Title: Hell Night
Year: 1981
Director: Tom De Simone
Rating: R
Length: 102 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Mono
Subtitles: N/A

Stars:
Linda Blair
Vincent Van Patten
Peter Barton
Kevin Brophy
Jenny Neumann
Suki Goodwin

Plot:
As an initiation rite into Alpha Sigma Rho fraternity, four pledges must spend a night in Garth Manor, twelve years to the day after the previous resident murdered his entire family. Two of the pledges, Marti (Linda Blair, The Exorcist) and Jeff (Peter Barton), ignore the rumors that the now-deserted mansion is haunted by a crazed killer, until one-by-one, members of their group mysteriously disappear. Could this be part of a fraternity prank or is a demented former tenant seeking revenge?

When their seemingly innocent rite of passage turns deadly, these college students will do anything to survive Hell Night.

Extras:
Scene Access
Audio Commentary
Feature Trailers
Production Notes

My Thoughts:
This one I kinda have mixed feelings about. It is good for what it is... but you kinda expect more from it. It is just an average typical '80s slasher film. A bit on the low budget side. Entertaining but not overly so. This is my second inda Blair movie in a row... I always liked her for some reason. She isn't the best actress out there... and she is cute but not great looking. But there is just something there that always appealed to me. She is the only familiar face in this movie. Pretty much everyone else I have no idea who they are. A decent movie to waste a couple hours with... but nothing to get too excited about. I am not sure why they rated this movie R... really nothing in it that is all that bad. Must just be when it was rated. I would think if it was put through for rating today it would get either a PG or a PG-13 at the most.

My Rating: 3/5
