Until you can get the rules changed they need to be followed just like any other contribution. Whether we like a rule or not is of no matter.

But if the rule makes no sense there's no need to make the contribution at all.  Just how much trouble is the maintenance of the online database worth?  You've spend eleven pages to not quite decide how to enter one title.

---------------

But I have decided going by the case, the rules and how the votes has come in so far. I strongly believe the way it is currently in the database is wrong. And I updated to the best of my ability following how I see the title and how I read the rules. Just some people on the forum don't agree and they haven't said anything to convince me that I am wrong on the matter.

It is a 2 disc set... first disc with both movies (single Sided) and 1 disc of extras

In other words, child profiles cannot be made using a unique Disc ID for each.

Just out of curiosity, what would you enter as the title IF you had to contribute this release:

**SNIP**

or any number of others just like them?

Can't say without seeing the entire case.  As I eluded to earlier, while I take the title from the front of the case, I often use the entire case to determine what that title is.

Let me help you out:

Anywhere else on the case would be no differently then looking anywhere other then the front cover. No more or less weight then the spine.

I did, in fact, miss that.

I guess what I'm asking is this debate is obviously over what title to use. "The Parent Trap" is on the cover, with "2-Disc Collection" in the middle of it, so it leaves it open to interpretation (obviously ).

Now, on the proof of purchase tab, it says "The Parent Trap: 2-Disc Collection" (added colon by the studio). Going with the reasonable part ( ), wouldn't it be safe to say that is the title as given by the distribution company?
It doesn't look like Disney follows that convention, but puts enough on the tab to uniquely identify the release; look at the tab for Pinocchio:

I don't see how that matters in this discussion about the title of the set. The title of the release is still the title of the release.

Sorry, but what about Die Hard: The Ultimate Collection?
Am I the only one who thinks The Ultimate Collection is an Edition?

Nope, you are not the only one.  I can see that going both ways...depending on personal preference.

Because of no time time I couldn't follow the newer posts, but in general I can see also the use of both version. (as title/as Edition)

But for the op asked title I think it is hard to decided, because there are so much similar box sets, with two different movies that are also a 2-movie collection or similar. I think the only small difference is the additional Parent Trap title. But why shouldn't we use this as title descriper?

All I needed was the spine, and  based on that...

Title: Going My Way / Holiday Inn
Edition: Universal Cinema Classics Double Feature
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I must disagree.  Double feature is not on the front cover.  While I can agree to the spine for verification, we cannot add words to the front cover based upon that.

The Title has to come from the front cover, but an Edition can come from "the DVD box"; therefore, an Edition of "Universal Cinema Classics Double Feature" would be acceptable.

This is exactly right. If you check the rules edition can be front, back, spine... anywhere on the case.

Well I've been trying in the past to get the Legacy Series DVD of The Sting that has the wording 2 Disc Special edition on the back of the jacket,  and it gets voted down every time because the 'Edition'  is not on the front jacket.. I've always said if it is listed anywhere it should be used ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

And the rules supports that. Going by what you said (I never seen the cover... not that I don;t believe you... just saying) the no votes were wrong. If I had it to vote on I would have voted yes with a comment that the no votes are wrong.

Yup... I would have definitely voted yes... noting that the rule states edition from anywhere on the box... not just the front.
