| | Posted: | | | | I'm looking for a quick clarification of the rules, are we still supposed to contribute the outer slip cover, assuming one exists, as the official image scans for a profile?
Reason I asked, is because the French version of Three Kings (Les Rois du Désert) with EAN [5-051889-016205] was originally contributed with the scans of the slip cover. However, an individual recently submitted cover scans on the interior case art stating "Scanned cover without Warner Blu Line".
I voted no based on how I understood the current rules but it seems a few other seem to disagree. |

If a DVD is packaged in a keep case, within a slipcase of some kind, scan the Cover Images from the outer slipcase. If, however, the Slipcase is reflective, and the inner cover art is identical, use the Keep Case art to scan, as it will give a better quality image.
If a title is re-released with the same UPC, but different cover images do not contribute the new images. This includes cases where a DVD was initially released in a slipcase, which was later removed. As explained in the introduction you may use your personal images in your local database, but they will not show online. IMO, straight forward case of you being right if there is a difference between the original slipcase and what is being contributed. |

But you know what they say when you assume... Addicted2DVD, yes, this was originally released with a slip under the Warner Blu-line. I purchased my copy when it was first released. |

I personally think slip covers are just packaging and are not the "real" covers but the rules are what they are. I do NOT have any slip cover images in my database and never will. |

Contribute your profile to the best of your understanding of the rules and the voters will "discuss" your contribution through the voting system. If they like it, it will usually be approved. What I would do is resubmit the originally artwork (with the slipcover) making sure to mention in my notes that the new one is of a re-release and that yours are the correct ones.
