What is the reason there isn't an Android version of DVDP? Android is the most popular mobile OS by far. There are Android versions of dvd library software out there that offer some of the features of DVDP, and I really hate to use them, but I REALLY want to be able to sync my databases too!

The real question is how SOON is soon.

Judging from the past: Not very soon.

The end of the world is coming too... maybe I'll just stick to my DVD Movie collection... it scans barcodes into the database, and it's free.. or for $2.99 I can remove the ads.
DVDP is just so feature rich - and has the bestest database of all

It was promised after the latest version of the IOS app so hopefully they will release it soon. I too am trying to wait patiently but honestly I'm getting very tired of waiting.

Why bother waiting... Collectorz.com has a DVD collector program with an Android app already available.

I am going to get their free trial and see how it compares.  If it is half as good a DVD Profiler I will drop DVD Profiler and switch over..  The Android app is the most important part of my inventory control.

Movie Collector has a few differences to DVDP.... some benefits, and some drawbacks. Things are done differently, sometimes with greater ease, sometimes not at all.
I really think the biggest differences come down to two things:
DVDP has a huge database and user support. This means much more information and assistance (from users) is available
Movie Collector has a couple of nifty features, and is more configurable, more simply, in more cases.
I particularly like the movie trailer feature!
The other clear benefit Movie Collector has, of course, is that there is an Android app already available, that works, and works fine!
I think I have been much more than patient, waiting for Invelos to support Android - even when it WASN'T the predominant mobile OS on the market. I understand, and sympathize, with developers struggling to keep up with the ever expanding versions of OS's... but really, ignoring any significant percentage of the market is just a road to eventual demise. Ask Amiga, or Commodore, or VHS; or HD-DVD... oh wait, you can't, they don't exist anymore!

I have both programs (Movie Collectorz and DVD Profiler) and I prefer for big distance DVDP, I feel no comfortable with Movie Collectorz and I am even unable to sort the movies by purchase date    That is the main sort kind I need to know at a glance what are the last titles I have purchased. It saves me lot of time searching through my collection for the more recent titles.

Anyway, that is a matter of personal likes or dislikes. More annoying is the database, no Spanish titles at all.

What is a fact is the existence of a nice Android app from Movie Colectorz compared to DVDP

Best regards

Hi all!

Some (many) months ago I talked about one Android app one of my friends had developed for my use. That app was "lost" (for public download) when megaupload was closed. Anyway, my friend was developing a new version.

Now, I introduce you the new version, with a new name: MyLoD (My List of Disc, not easey to find new, exciting names, you know  ).

The new app its much better than the previous one, with cover thumbnails, information about the format (DVD, HD-DVD and Blu Ray) and folders with additional information. It is still really fast of use and sync.

You need to export the database to XML (with DVDP, of course) and the export application will use the XML file and the pictures from DVDP to export all the data to the Android app. The Sync process it is made via WiFi. In my SG S3, with WiFi n the sync is incredibly fast but even with my old SG S (WiFi b/g) the sync was still faster several times faster than with Collectorz. My friend had a funny time to remove the useless stuff in the XML file

It has been tested in a couple of Android mobiles (not too many, I am afraid) but it should work fine with any Android above 2.2. And even in that case, there is a lite app version for those old Android versions.

The PC export application can be found here:

The Android app can be found here:

Here I include some screenshots (the text are in Spanish but the app is available in Spanish, English and French):

Standard View

Menu View

Landscape View

Movie Purchase Info

Movie Summary

Movie Cast&Crew

Movie General Info

The PC Export Tool

This time I will not promise upgrades since the application has been considered perfect by its only and main user, me!  , but my friend will provide support to solve any bug (if any).

Obviously the application is for free

If you need further information about the application, the download or the sync program, feel free to ask.

Best regards

And here I was hoping Santa would bring DVD Profiler for Android this year.

Guess I wasn't good enough this year and will have to wait until next year.

Oh my Godness! The links were missing!

It seems I am completely unlucky with that post (I had to rewrite completely again since the first time I exceded the time limit and everything was lost).

The updater program can be found here: http://goo.gl/TTiDR
The android app can be found here: http://goo.gl/05EJi

Now the links are showing and working, sorry!

Yes, a known problem. Workaround: either copy everything to the clipboard to be safe before submitting, or simply do a preview every once in a while.

Very nice, downloaded already, will give it a spin as soon as my visitors let me.
