Good evening, Sirs,

today I'm looking for the Original Title of Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin".

The American Film Institute web site, the Academy Award web site, the US profiles, the movie posters, even the untrustworthy IMDb tend to "The Adventures of Tintin".

What would you say is the Original Title?

Love, bbbbb

What is on the front cover that it needs to have an original title added? I looked at the covers on Amazon and they say "The Adventures of Tintin"... so what am I missing? how about posting the front cover image? Maybe then I could see the problem.

What makes you think it might be something other than what you've posted?

It was released cinematically/advertised in several locales as The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. I imagine this is where the question is arising from. This is the UK title also for the BR and DVD. I do believe however, the original title is simply The Adventures of Tintin.

It is a Foreign Film, the front cover reads:

- - - x - - -
von Steven Spielberg und Peter Jackson

Die Abenteuer von

Tim und Struppi

* Das Geheimnis der Einhorn *

FSK ab 6 freigegeben [rating overlay]

The Adventures of Tintin
- - - x - - -

There's nothing special about it. I'm just looking for the original title for the main feature in the country of origin.

The Adventures of Tintin

If this is what's in the credits of the US-Version, it is correct.

The "No" was from me because I went with the credited title in the BluRay credits which funnily adds "The Secret of the Unicorn" in a second line.

This is how my screen looks about one second after it looked like your screenshot.

Anyhow, I removed my vote and withdrew my contribution.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

What are the reasons for the no votes?

My contribution notes from Mar. 21 read:

- - - x - - -
Title: removed ": The Secret of the Unicorn" from the OT, like in IMDb.
DVD Release: changed from Mar. 23 to 21, from amazon.de, and mine arrived today.
Case Type: added. It's slim.
Genres: replaced Comedy with Animation. The Genres should reflect the fact that this is not a live action movie.
Studios: added three Studios from opening credits.
Features: added the Bonus Trailers (check out "Preview").
Interviews could be wrong, didn't check it yet.
Video Formats: 2.40 -> 2.35, like on back cover, and like the original aspect ratio.
Subtitles: removed Greek and Italian (non-existent).
Audio Tracks: corrected english DTS-HDMA 5.1 -> 7.1, added the missing English DD 5.1 track, changed order as on disc. Verified with PDVD.
Overview: replaced the invented text with the actual overview from the back of the box.
Disc Info: added. Disc ID Profiler read-out.

Lewis_Prothero voted against the contribution, saying IMDb was not a valid source.

And he was correct, IMDb is not a valid source.

Why not? Do you think IMDb got the Original Title wrong? The Original Title Rules do no forbid IMDb as a reference for titles released outside their country of origin. Would it be valid to reference to Wikipedia which references to IMDb? Would it be valid to use an Original Title I see on a movie image at IMDb? According to The Rules, what exactly are the valid sources to determine an Original Title for foreign films? On a more general basis, should we only have one Original Title per movie, or should we have several "Original Titles" of a movie, per profile?
