The more contributions I do the stricter I become with the interpretation of what’s in and what’s not.
A year ago I’d have say someone credited as the Caterer should get a Make-up credit, as good catering puts a smile on your face, which most people look better with, which is what a lot of make-up is put on for.
That’s a joke by the way, but it’s just a whole lot easier not to have to worry about interpreting things. I add all the ‘extra’ credits I’m interested in (mainly music ones) as Other Custom Roles, which works fine.

We really need the rules to be updated. |

So according to your definition you're a MakeUp-Artist too Why thank you!  A proper job for me at last. Actually I think you can morph just about any credit into a Director if you try hard enough. If we all did this we'd only need this one role, so there'd be no more confusion or disagreements over any crew credit roles as every film would just have a lot of directors. The issues relating to correct spellings, common names, asian names, names with accented or other 'non-standard' letters, duplicate names, capitalisation and ordering would still exist though. Maybe I'm being obtuse, but I don't see the difference. However, if someone can explain the difference between Make-up Effects and Prosthetics to me I'm more than open to have my mind changed. |

Yes, this is the "functional equivalent" of make-up effects - heck, this is pretty much EXACTLY what "make-up effects" is supposed to track - but the rub is that the rules don't state that "functional equivalents" are allowed. Of course, many users don't care about that and enter it regardless, while others keep it local. No solution in sight, I'm afraid... |
