I think there is no sense in contributing Disc Information for DVD-R series (WB Archive) since each and every copy has a unique disc id.

Yes, entering those 'Media On Demand' titles opens a whole can of imprecise worms.

Although they're official releases, having no box, EAN or Disc ID makes them impossible to profile.

Actually, each one (single/double disc, anyway) comes in a keep case.  The UPC is the same for each copy they make, even if the discID's are different.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Did someone actually verify that the Disc ID's are different?

No need to. They are DVD-R so it's evident the ID is always different.

Where this starts to get ugly is in the multi-disc sets.  Mexican Spitfire, George Sanders Saint, etc.  One case, multiple discs, but since disc IDs are worthless no proper child profiles as the rules currently require.

I have a DVD-R purchased from the Warner Archives titled Bachelor Mother (UPC:  883316-291535).

The first copy I got was defective and wouldn't play all the way through.  I called and received a free replacement disc, without having to return the original.  Both discs, according to DVDP, have the same Disc ID:  83B5DA07E4BD2E48.

So what is evident to you is not evident to me.

Why would they, if they are burnt from the same ISO-file?

I've made copies for some friends and they always had the same disc-ID since I was using the same ISO.

I think you may be off base with your accusation, he may be doing what I have done that being turning homemade videos (either tape or in my case a digital camcorder) into multiple copies for family and friends. So ergo he would not be as you put it a "Cat".

So where is the evidence? This is a non-argument, like "because I say so".

In that case that would be different and I would retract my accusation. I help people in the industry with internet copyright thievery, so I've zero respect for any of those thieves...

Since you don't know laws and compensation methods of home copying in every country I would shut up if I were you. For example in Finland see more here.  You can run it through Google translator. So if I have to pay to studios for every empty CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc, external hard drives, mp3 player etc. I wouldn't feel bad for taking copies for my friends.

Not that I do it myself though. In my opinion that tax should be removed because now it's hurting people who doesn't copy anything and after that all copying should be forbidden.

My point, if you don't know the whole story, keep your accusations on yourself.

And you are proud of being an idiot idealist?
99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1."
