Rules regarding Box sets? |

| | Posted: | | | | Have the box sets for X-files & SG-1. I have had to fully lock them as somebody has submitted a partial series, and different artwork. Example In X-files series 1,2,3,4 instead of the complete series box I have DVDp wants to replace them with Disc 1's and completely different art work.  In SG1 Disc 1,2,3,5 it wants to replace them with (1) Disc 1, (2) Volume 2, (3) Volume 8, (5) Volume 20, and again different artwork. I have just spent many hours rebuilding the damage as the update I did was corrupt, and I've had to rebuild the "Notes" section. to get rid of a partial series. Also with no news on a Android version I'm thinking of looking elswhere.  Box set rules need to be revisited, as its becoming a joke | | | | www.daves-world.co.uk |

I am new here though, but what I have been told about images is since disc's can be shared across releases the only safe thing to do is of the disc is an accepted profile do not change it and submit it, if you want to change it do it locally and lock the images.
Based on the advice that I have been given it does not make sense that changes should have been submitted. |

| | Posted: | | | | Art work is based on the first release, if a disc ID which is usually associated with a box set or in this case a TV series was used in another release then that art work wins.
This is not uncommon for TV series where they release season sets and complete series sets after the season sets have been released. They usually don't create new discs for the complete series sets. Or sometimes they will just update the DVD packaging with new cover art.
Just lock down the cover art you have and it won't be over written. | | | Are you local?

Changes, specially those made since two years, generally damage the quality of old profiles (they were correct before 2007), breaking linking when using common name threads, and adding uninteresting crew roles, group dividers and spelling mistakes that are a pain to delete.

So it is easy to manage scrutinizing them. Pay no attention to this user. He has nothing but disdain for invelos and the database. Every chance he gets, in whatever thread he can, he steps on his soapbox and disparages invelos and the database. He claims superior knowledge and insight into everything DVD Profiler related. His "claims" regarding spelling errors and such nonsense stem from invelos's contribution rules regarding on-screen credits and overviews where we are told to copy the overview exactly as written and the credits exactly "as credited" on-screen. If an overview has a word that is actually spelled incorrectly he feels he has the "right" to correct it and contribute it to the online database. Sorry, the rules state clearly "exactly" as written or as credited, warts and all. He expects everyone in the world to know his language, French, and to properly apply accents and special characters to credited actors names, even though the on-screen credits show no accents or special characters. He wants the database to be changed to reflect his concept of what DVD Profiler should be…namely about movies or films…not about profiling DVDs or Blu-rays. So…whenever you see a post from this user, take my advice and “move along…nothing to see here”. | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |
