| | Posted: | | | | So i bought this boxset from Amazon.com and it turns out it may well be the canadian version. The UPC is the same as the American one already profiled (02454371434) but with 80 tacked on the end so it's actually a 14 digit UPC.
Am i able to upload this profile to the database just by changing the locality to Canadian or do i need to add on that 80?
It has canadian/quebec ratings on the back of each box and there are additional subtitle languages included among other differences with the US one in the database. |

| | Posted: | | | | I don't believe a 14 digit UPC is correct. A lot of DVDs have 2 additional digits at the end of the UPC.
It is perfectly acceptable to download the American version of the DVD and change the locality.
Then, you will need to change any data that differs from the US locality one. The Cover Scans, SRP etc. will all need to be changed to match the DVD you own. |

The Trilogy box itself has no rating. But the individual cases have 14A and G ratings (quite bloody small they are too!) which i understand are Canadian and Quebec ratings respectively. So you think it should be Canada (Quebec) in this case? |

| | Posted: | | | | Newer Canadian releases most definately have the Quebec rating. It is, however, a fairly recent development. Previous releases (as in anything released more than a year ago) had no Quebec rating printed on the box, only an extra sticker if it was sold in Quebec. In any case use the Canada (Quebec) locality ONLY if you intend to use the French title, overview and Quebec rating. Otherwise please just use the plain old Canada one. |

Here in Quebec everything must be reviewed by the rating board. whatever it is a TV show, a movie or a DTV if this is release on dvd it must be reviewed again (unrated doesn't exist here). BTW nice to know they have change the system since it was illegal to sell a dvd without the sticker and nobody keep them. Of course a large portion of my purchase are online so I never got the sticker in the first place... |

Is this typical though? I have a few US Blu rays and none of them have Canadian ratings, only US ones. I have pleanty of US Blu-ray releases with Canadian ratings on the rear covers. | | Posted: | | | | It's interesting 8ballMax, i was looking back over the US blu rays i have (not many) but i did find that a couple actually do have the Canadian ratings but they all also have the US ones. Family guy trilogy is the only one that has only the Canadian ratings. |
