Quick question.

If we take any cast information from the DVD's sleeve, a booklet/leaflet inside the DVD case, or from within an extra feature (where they’re written or spoken about) on the DVD, do we tick the “uncredited” tick box for these individuals?

This question assumes they aren't listed in the film's credits anywhere.

Thanks  -  Paul
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

If they are not listed within the credits (opening or closing) of the movie on the disc itself, then they are classified as uncredited (no matter the source)....

Right... Like Charlie said... as long as they are not in the opening or end credits they are marked as uncredited.

What Charlie and Pete said...uncredited means they were not listed in the credits.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

As long as the individual is actually in the main feature and not in a deleted scene, which isn't allowed per rules, then yes.

Like others have said, only what's on the film credits fit. It goes both ways with deleted scenes too.
Example:
Bruce Campbell is in the cast credits for "The Quick and the Dead" even though his scenes were cut and never surfaced anywhere to my knowledge, defintly not on any dvd or bd.

Everything you listed are great sources to confirm an uncredited though!

Thanks bigdaddyhorse... I recently saw Bruce Campbell in the profile for Quick and the Dead.. and I was going nuts trying to remember seeing him. And I just couldn't remember. Now I know why. You saved me from having to watch it again here soon.

Yes.
The only time when we use other sources and still don't tick the uncredited checkbox is when there are absolutely no credits (beginning/end) in the movie. (But those are very limited to special cases)

I'm not sure why you wouldn't tick "uncredited" in this instance?

If there are no credits, the film's official site may be used as a source, as long as the inclusion does not violate the site's published policy (if any).
Doesn't say to tick uncredited in the rule. But why don't we ask skip what the intent of this rule is.

I was thinking the same, but actually Ken told us to use the "uncredited" checkbox in this case.
Check the Collected Statements.

The only exception is, that we may include the "uncredited" crew in this case.

It is my understanding that any cast credits entered into a profile that are not listed in the actual film credits MUST have the "uncredited" box ticked.

Also from the Rules:
Quote:
Uncredited actors may be listed in alphabetical order following all credited actors. Use the "Uncredited" checkbox to indicate these. Uncredited actors are not required entries.

I don't think the section you quoted overrides this section.

Well to be fair it don't say not to tick it either.

But there is a rule that says...
Quote:
Uncredited actors may be listed in alphabetical order following all credited actors. Use the "Uncredited" checkbox to indicate these. Uncredited actors are not required entries.

So reading all the rules on the subject... as they are written... I would check uncredited checkbox.

I know Ken made this rule because of a certain thread. But I can't remember what thread it was to find it to see if he said anything about the uncredited check box. Maybe someone else can find and point to the post.

Thank You... Uncredited box should be checked in this instance.
