| Posted: | | | | It looks too good to be true. The price is beyond excellent for a five port switcher.
Few red flags: Price is very low Product description makes a point to say that it's Genuine "Input 1-3 and 4-5 have different compatibility settings for maximum compatibility coverage." Considering that HDMI v1.3 is supposed to be backward compatible, this makes me wonder. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

It seems to have decent reviews, and I am still working thought a lot of the hdmi stuff on cables, switches etc.
As always more info the better.

-Robert Interesting. From all your posts (all over the place ) this seems closer than most of the other things you have come up with. Seems like we continue to think differently on this stuff. I have to say that if that box does what it says for that price, it would be a good deal. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Well if it did Component out that would be another story :D
I still poke around looking at a few different things.
I am still in need of a 3rd and 4th connector to the TV ( prefering to not use a composite video )
I need to get the stupid TV here and see how the S-Video inputs are handled. If they don't over lap the components then I will be ok with 4 video devices with the OTA Tuner on the Antenna feed.
I have been hunting for receivers, and well that hasn't gone all that well. Still looking

| Posted: | | | | Looks like I fell into the trap again of trying to follow your logic. I haven't a clue why you continue to over-complicate this simple problem that we have solved for you two or three times over, in other threads. Sorry for being rude, but it almost seems like you are toying with us. One last time: Here is an example of what I mean: This is a low-end a/v receiver with 4 HDMI inputs, 3 component inputs, and a/v inputs - upscaling of analog (composite) to HDMI - Component passthru - HDMI passthru Then - connect the three CX995V's to both component and HDMI inputs - connect the Blu-Ray to the remaining HDMI - Connect TV to component out - Connect Projector to HDMI out Done. All for $250. Spend a bit more and you could do more. Simple. Easy. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | (I was working on this before your detailed post, had to take a phone call  )
I think you are just reading way to much into what I poke around looking at stuff.
The suggested solutions that have been offered :
Component Switch ( which is how I found that 7/1 Switch )
Older Receiver with a crap load of inputs ( still looking )
The ideal would be in all honesty would be to have the 995's all going to the same switch/receiver, have the regular DVD to the TV ( or if the inputs allow it through the Receiver / Switch )
I would prefer to use component, S-vid as a second option. That is why I will have to get the TV in hand to get a better idea how the inputs over lap.
I have 3 995's atm working on getting a 4th, currently also looking into a BR player but thats a bit off unless I find something that just makes me real warm and fuzzy.

That's exactly the solution I gave you. Forget S-video. Just forget it. You don't need it, and you don't want it. Your TV has 3 component inputs: (1) from the receiver, (2) from the 4th CX995V, (3) From the DVD or Blu-Ray player. You can concurrently plug either the 4th CX995V or the DVD/BD into the 4th HDMI input of the receiver for use with the projector. The only reason I proposed an older receiver is that you seemed to be price sensitive and not sure when/if you would have an HDMI capable TV. Of course, my solution works even better with a more modern, more capable receiver. More inputs and more configuration options. It should be very easy to find one with the correct number of inputs using Google. Here is a monster Marantz on eBay with 4 component inputs/dual output plus 4 HDMI inputs for $400. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | You keep mentioning projector, I don't have or plan to have one of those unless I get a new house Just a crap load of DVD players :D Also I am not sure which TV you saw but only 2 Component inputs, what looks like 2 S-vid inputs and a few composite. Unless I am just more clueless than I even begin to understand. I do appreciate the link to that Sony receiver, I am looking at that and see if I can swing it w/ the 4th 995. I may put the 995 off a bit to get that receiver. thanks -Robert PS- That monster would be neat | | | Last edited: by RobAGD |
