Don't we simply enter whatever we see on the cover?

The problem is that we have the German language in Germany, Switzrland and Austria. But only the Germans know about the sharp S. So same language but different spelling. The ss every German speaking person understands and find it. The sharp S only Germans can find. I think we should use the things all can understand as it is the same language.

The é and è and so on is know in France and also in Switzerland, Franch part. But even I in the German part have those signs. The sharp S is just a German extra tour for really nothing, they even talk for a long time to kill it, but never arrived there, hehe.

Of course we have. Just stay on the "s" and a selection appears where ß can be chosen.

As far as I know, only the Swiss do not use ß. Austrians do to my knowledge.
And just because one nation, which also speaks German, decides to do away with a letter, we should mispell our titles?

Btw thats not true. In Austria, we use the sharp S (ß). It seems that the only one not using it are the swiss?

I really cannot understand the Germans, they write:

verbessern but schließlich

for us it is verbessern and schliesslich. And I know from Germans that they very often even themselves do not know must I put a ß or ss. A lot do not know really the rules. How should we know when I search a German film if it is written with ß or ss when even a lot of German don't know the rules? And then it really makes it difficult to find certain films, as most are translated into a German name. I don't know why so many Germans like this ß, you only make more mistakes than we do because we do not have to think about it :-).

Sounds like T4xi is right per Rules.... as the rules tells us to take the title from the front cover. No different then my copy of Seven... on the cover it is Se7en and is in the database as Se7en.

I believe DVD Profiler is made for easy output, to find fast in the database if you have a film or not. This ß or also Taxi 4 as T4xi or Seven as Se7en makes it not really funny to lookup if I have a film or not. I am a normal user of DVD Profiler and therefor I search for things and like to find them immediatelly. For this is a database and not just for fun to own it. Ken is doing a great job, but such things finally make it so hard to find things, I can't believe that this is his intension. In alphabetic order Taxi 3 and T4xi are even not together, there are other films between. This may be the rules, but do they really help the simple users as I am to use it the simple and fast way? For this it was developped I believe and not to spend hours searching in all kind of ways if you own a film or not.

For where it sorts you have the sorting title in the personalize screen. So the title would be T4xi and the sort title would be Taxi 4 So they would be together.

As for searching the titles... when I add DVDs to my collection I always use UPC or Disc ID... so never had a problem. If I had to add by title... I always at least see the cover art at the online store I shop at... and know the rules of profiler... so I would search the likes of Se7en and t4xi.
