Please, Ken, can we get an entire separate new DVD profiler forum just for all these "Common name..." questions. It is so boring to run through this mass of requests inside the Contribution Discussion forum. Thanks.

I agree, as most people, but since that's not happening anytime in the near future, creating a new forum will be extremely helpful.

I'd love to never start another common name thread. Do all the research to link the names (sometimes completely unrelated names), write up the thread, search through CLT results, gather a list of credits, take the time to confirm the credits in my collection, submit corrections, keep the thread updated etc. etc. A new linking system would be a dream come true. Ken has unfortunately shown that apparently... he doesn't give a flying crap about the linking system at this time. It's the flawed IMDB infested CLT system for him, and he's apparently fine with that. He hasn't even hinted or indicated that a new linking system is a seed inside his brain at this point. Until/if (big IF because I don't see it happening for an extended period of time) that happens, a new forum would be an extremely helpful way of dealing with this for all the members that care about properly linking cast and crew within their locals as per Invelos standards. And there wouldn't necessarily be any polluting of a new forum, if that new forum was specifically dedicated to this purpose. Those that want to take part, can. Those that don't care about linking or who don't want to participate don't even have to enter the forum (don't think though I won't vote no if you submit a Gary C. Bourgeois credit to a profile from my local!!!    ).

I also wish that I didn't find it sad that people find the topic of common names and proper linking "boring"  . Maybe it's just my OCD, but I care if I have both a James Caviezel and a Jim Caviezel in my local and they don't link. I wish more people cared, I wish more people would help confirm a credit or two, I wish more people would submit a correction or two when a common name is determined. If the community we've built here pulled together and did some work, the CLT system that we have now could be improved infinitely in a very short period of time. Pipe dream though as I totally, absolutely and 100% get why people just don't care as much as some others!!! (And that's not meant as a put down, I also fully realize some people DO care, they just don't like the system we have now... so no one take any offense to that please as that's not how I meant it!)
