While watching X2: X Men United last night I noticed that in the middle of the cast list there is a header "Cast in order of appearence" should this be omitted from the cast list?

I would.

No serious, I have seen profiles in which it was included. I think before this header the cast was the main cast, so it gives just the information, that now the other cast begins and is sorted in another way.

For me this information is nive to have but not needed. So I think I wouldn't enter it too, but is depending on personnel preference.

But what is not allowed, is to enter such a header, if it is at the beginning of the cast credits

In this case it's in the middle of the credits.

I still wouldn't add it. Then you have the entire rest of the cast indented for no real reason.

Not to mention whenever you click on a person's name you would have on the majority of the cast their role being...

This is correct. In the cast list I wouldn't hava problem with it, but on the actor window it looks a bit "ugly".
If you open the dividers with " + " it looks a bit better but still not very nice.

Indeed, this is not a header but a divider.  I have seen several variations of this, and always use a divider for it.  Note, I consider this a 'full cast division', so would use and episodic divider, not a group divider...this has the added benefit of not showing in the actor window.

If it is (as the OP said) in the middle of the cast list... how can it be a Full cast division? because of that I have to disagree with you this time Martian.

Because it fully divides the main cast from the rest of the cast.  It is a cast division, so I feel it should be entered.

The rules for episode dividers is...

Quote:
Use Episode dividers for TV show episodes, distinct films, or other logical episodic distinction. Also use episode dividers for full cast division, such as "Japanese Voices".

I really do not believe that is the same thing. Where you have the English cast... and then the Japanese cast... it is 2 sets of FULL cast credits. Not Main cast and rest of cast division. That is how I read it at least.

So I must ask Ken to clarify... because as the rule is written now I would vote no to such a thing.

How is this allowed by the rules? A full cast division is a division that separates a cast list for a whole movie from another cast list for a whole movie. This is shown by the example given for full cast division (Japanese voices) and were intended to be used to separate different cast for different dubs of (animated) movies. Cast in order of appearance has nothing to do with full cast lists.
