Every weekend (Fri-Sun) I try to put some sort of theme to my movie marathons. Sometimes I will also watch shorts and such between each movie. I already have a basic idea to what I am going to do for this weekend's marathon. But I need to choose between 2 choices. What I want to do is work on the Saturday Morning Cartoon Collections that Brittany (my daughter) bought me for Father's Day last year. So I thought it would be perfect to use those sets between movies. So I thought I would do a marathon for the decade of the Cartoon sets I have. But I have both... The '60s and The '70s sets. Voted for the 70s, but the question is how do you feel: More 60s or more 70s?

That is the problem... I see titles from both the '60s and the '70s that I could watch again!

I picked '60s.  Why?  I'm not sure.  First one listed maybe?

Gotta go for 70's: A) I wasn't around in the 60's, and B) The titles you listed sound more evil!

But then again... Britt just told me if the '60s win... she will make me watch The Impossibles!

I am cool with Frankenstein Jr. But I can't hack The Impossibles!

So I guess I am doomed either way!

Voted for '70s - mainly for the fact that you've never seen The Abominable Dr Phibes - such a great film!

Also God Told Me To is another excellent '70s movie imo.

If you are open to suggestions to other great '60s/'70s flicks (not that you haven't got enough choice!  ) I've got a list a mile long I could recommend, as I love films from this period.

I voted for the 70s. I have no recollection of my time in the 60s, because I was too young. But I went to the cinema in 1971 for the first time as a 5 year old

On the other hand, I can't imagine how you have been able to not see The Longest Day. For as long as I can remember, this movie has an annual re-run on television here.

Well... that is because I used to be one of those people that wouldn't give older movies a chance. I would never watch anything that was made before 1980. But don't worry... I have seen the light... just have a lot of catching up to do is all.

I see. It's a heavy duty isn't it. So many movies, and so little time. I've barely seen half of my DVD collection

For years my purchase rate was a lot higher than my viewing rate. But I'm working on it.

Enjoy your marathon.

IIRC, you're a fan of horror, so I chose the 70s though if you can, I recommend picking up some of MGM's Soul Cinema releases, especially my personal fave Black Mama White Mama. Now that is pure 70s trash (though granted they prob aren't suitable for a young lass).

Thanks for the recommendation... I won't be able to pick any up for THIS marathon. But maybe before too long.

And yes... I am a huge horror fan. (both in fandom and body size)
