| Posted: | | | | Hi!, DVD Profiler is a user built database. If you feel up to the task, you could try creating a new profile & submitting it. First of all, read through the Contribution Rules & go from there. If you're not confident about submitting it yourself then all you can do is wait until someone else adds it. Depending on your location this could be within a day or it could be weeks if you're in a smaller country that has fewer users. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks. For not ripping apart the new guy. Have had the program for years, but never post on here. It is a USA Best Buy exclusive title, so I will wait until someone else does out of pure laziness. |

But this is a lot faster then starting from scratch. Here's a link with instructions: Cloning ProfilesAlso hitting the "Main Page" on the left will direct you to some other tips and whatnot that might help you out being relatively new. | | | "The perfect is the enemy of the good." - Voltaire |

Firstly I apologise in advance for potentially rubbing you up the wrong way. However, it is this attitude that really ticks me off. If everyone was lazy and waited for others to do the work our database would be total rubbish. Take responsibility for being part of a user-built database....be a user and do the work yourself. |

| Posted: | | | | I was going to post a big helpful reply, but to be honest... I can't be bothered. I am THAT lazy.
Nah seriously, read the contribution rules and while it might take you a while to do your first one you'll soon be whizzing through it. Personally there are things I don't do purely because of lack of time but I do try and revisit. |

| Posted: | | | | As it's an exclusive release to a specific store, you may be waiting longer than normal but as it's a US release & a big title it's unlikely to be that long.
While I agree with Pantheon's viewpoint to an extent, I'd rather have someone who wants to do the work doing the work as opposed to someone who isn't really interested. That way it's more likely to be accurate & have more info. |

| Posted: | | | | I have submitted a profile for The Green Mile BD and it was approved this evening. The only thing I didn't add was the overview (forgot) and the disc ID, since I don't have a BD drive on my pc. | | | We're on a mission from God.

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the post hostelmovies! I wasn't aware that Best Buy had an exclusive release for the Green Mile Blu-ray. Not sure how I missed the release date but now I'm going to have to pick it up. |

I'd agree with you aboout most "specific" stores, but Best Buy is probably the largest retailer of DVDs in the US and I'd venture to say that most US users have visited Best Buy more than once in search of a DVD. Unless it's an obscure title (then Best Buy probably wouldn't be marketing an exclusive release anyway) chances are good that many people will get that exclusive and he might not have to wait longer than normal. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? | Posted: | | | | Not trying to throw gas on the fire, but which release date do we use in a situation like this? Yes Best Buy is huge, but for some it's not there (I'm thinking rural US where the only stores left are Wal-Mart and McDonalds). This will also come into play when Gremlins is fully released on BD (currently Target has it exclusively, but wants too much $). As usual, I could argue either release date, but tend to lean towards the full, 'get the disc anywhere' date despite the Best Buy and Traget right down the street from me. Would I feel different if I bought Gremilns or Green Mile already? Probably not, then I can look back and see how cool I was for having it weeks before release date. Oh yeah: Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had early BB releases also. Pretty sure there's another Target exclusive right now also. |

Plus rural US can always order these titles online so still have access to them (providing they have a computer). It's not like it's some regional only chain or some mom and pop store getting the exclusive. I believe Goonies will be a target exclusive but don't think that's out yet. *edit* to answer your initial question, I think per the rules we use the exclusive release date. -Agrare | | | Last edited: by Agrare |

Don't forget you don't have to be close to a brick 'n mortar Best Buy store. You can get anything they sell over the Internet. I've done so a few times myself (like when I can't find a copy of that really cheap TV series that's on sale this week. Many's the Saturday that I've gone online just to get the sale price when I haven't found the title in the 4 BB stores near me (within 20 miles). So those folks in rural US (assuming they're online) can still patronize Best Buy. Disclaimer: While this sounds like I'm a shill for Best Buy, I'm not. I just wanted to point out to Forget that the exclusive Best Buy editions aren't all that uncommon or hard to acquire -- so someone will probably profile them sooner rather than later. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges?
