Hello fellow DVD collectors.
Just persuaded a friend to buy DVDprofiler last saturday. So I was wondering how many of you have convinced others to buy this fantatiske and addictive program?
Personally, I have convinced 3 to buy DVDprofiler, my sister, my girlfriend and a friend

I know a lady that has at least 10,000 movies on Beta Max, VHS Tapes, Laser Disc and dvd's She has a hand made data base she as used for years. I mention DVD Profiler and since she can't enter Tapes or Laser Disc and the fact she doesn't want to reenter all her data she doesn't want it.

Her collection is pretty neat name the movie or tv show and she has it. She also has a label machine so the number on the movie matches her database.

@ Randall_Lind:
What your lady friend could do for her Beta Max, VHS and LD using DVDP is: do a Title Search, pick the most complete available profile for the title in question, download that profile and use the Tag feature to mark them as Beta Max, VHS or LD. She could also enter her own cover scans to match what she's got, and change profile details accordingly. It would save her re-entering the vast majority of her data. Take a look here for what is called "profile cloning".
Of course, she could not contribute anything and she would have to lock down the local changes she's made to the original profile to prevent them being overwritten by future profile updates.

To get back to the topic thread: I have recommended DVDP to several friends, and at least one of them bought a license.

No. I don't know anyone who collect movies as a hobby. But I mention it in some forums when the question comes up.

All my friends look at me and my dvd collection as crazy, so this program also equals insanity to them as they have no use for it with their puny collections.
If a couple people I know win the lottery or a gameshow, they'd probably be into it. I do sing the praises in other forums, so maybe I've swung someone over without knowing, but none for sure.

I know what you mean, most of my friends consider me a bit on the crazy side, and my collection is tiny compared to many DVDprofiler users

I've directly convinced one or two.  But I always speak highly of it when I see it mentioned in other forums.
