| | Posted: | | | | For those who might not go there the discussion of how to profile the Bonus DVD started over here. Is it a third disc on the Blu-ray profile or a DVD that should be profiled separately and treated as a box set child? (Packaging would indicate it's not a permanent feature of the Blu-ray - separate envelope outside the BD case) For myself i like the second option and have submitted a profile based on the Disc ID. | | | | Bad movie? The examples given are: "Companion movie bonuses, example "Season of the Witch" which includes "There's Always Vanilla" from the same director." This is a feature film and it is included as a bonus to the main release. That to me meets the criteria for this rule. |

The DVD side of a combo disc wasn't presented as bonus feature. If however they do start looking at "combo" releases for blu-ray this would certainly have to be re-evaluated. |

You capture the IDs and edit the description to indicate Main Feature (media) and that's it. It's treated like a Widescreen/Full Screen flipper. The DVD with the Blu-ray is physically separate media ( and in this case packaging). Based on packaging (separate envelope stuck [but removable] to the outside of the Blu-ray keep case) the DVD is a bonus that won't be provided forever. | | Posted: | | | | Since the bonus dvd is only being included for a limited time, I think it should be handled like store exclusive bonus dvds are handled. it should have it's own complete profile. Attaching it to or listing it as a bonus feature to the blu-ray disc doesn't make any sense to me since people who buy it later will not get it.
IMO, it would be like listing a Best Buy exclusive bonus dvd for one of the 'Lost' Season sets as the seventh disc on the main profile, or writing it into other special features field when not everyone will have that bonus disc. |
