just a comment - the spline does not include the word episode on Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace The reason I am opposed to this is that you have to add an exception for non-english localities at once. I try to find a general way without having (too much) exceptions from the start. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

If unsure, come to the forums, start a 20 page thread, then throw in a couple of polls and then do what you want locally and lock it down. | | | Lutz |

You still have contribution notes votes and screeners for exceptions. eg Title taken from front cover OR Title taken from elsewhere as the cover is clearly non standard because ..... |

You both make abolute sense to me and while I agree in principle with the both of you I'd still favour the spine. Why? Because I think it's more likely to find a well-formatted title on the spine, it's more likely that there's no tagline that could be interpreted as subtitle and I think most of us have our DVDs ordered in a way where the spine is the only readable part of the entire cover. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Use the 'Original Title' field for the title from the movie credits or the copyright notice if it differs from the title on the front cover. | | | Cor |

| Posted: | | | | you could amend the title rule: 1. If no sensible title on the front cover take it from the dvd spine cover 2. If no sensible title on the dvd spine cover take it from the back cover 3. If you can't figure the title out start a discusion in the Contribution forum | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. | | | Last edited: by ? |
