| Posted: | | | | Okay, I've managed to miss out on any and all episodes of Stargate SG:1 and Stargate Atlantis. But as a dedicated Sci-Fi fan of modern technicalities I'm considering to blindly purchase Stargate SG:1 sometime this year and Stargate Atlantis sometime next year.
Would you recommend this blind buy?
Anyone heard/read about Stargate SG:1 to be released as a Mega Box? Should I wait? |

| Posted: | | | | I bought seasons 1 and 2 as a blind buy and before I had even finished watching the first disc I was on the net ordering the next 4 seasons (they were what was available then!) and also the first season of Atlantis. I am eagerly awaiting the last season of SG1 and the next for Atlantis but have watched most of these episodes from downloads! The series are both EXCELLENT and should NOT be missed, especially if you are a Sci-Fi fan!!!!!!!
btw. I gave this a 5 on the poll! | | | <---------Mithrandir, Laverne and Shirley Caroline | | | Last edited: by Caroline |

| Posted: | | | | This was a good remainder. I just made a pre-order on on Play.com for SG-1 season 10, volumes 1 and 2; and Atlantis season 3, volumes 1 and 2. |

PS. Haven't heard about a Mega Box. ...of modern technicalities... I probably should have written 'like' then, hu!? I've been out of the loop for quite some time (poor student) but also, I don't like downloading episodes from the net because once I've seen 1 ep. I want to see all, and if I can't see them when I want to see them I rather not see any until I get my hands on all. I hate to wait. Thanks for the feedback on the Mega Box! If you have the equipment to play R1-DVDs and don't mind the missing dubbing (if there is a swedish dubbing in the first place), consider waiting until december. DeepDiscount.com had a "Buy one, get one free" sale for TV Boxsets in the previous years. I bought SG-1 season 1-8 for 20€ per season, including shipping and taxes and customs. You can really save a buck there. Quote: Anyone heard/read about Stargate SG:1 to be released as a Mega Box? Should I wait? Heard nothing, but didn't really looked for news on SG-1 either, as I happen to have most of them already. TVShowsOnDVD don't list anything of that kind for Region 1. But I like pretty much anything new'ish. - A.I. - Alien (although "Resurrection" had some questionable scenes ) - Batteries not included - Contact - Farscape (made a mistake and got "The PeaceKeeper Wars" without having seen the season sets, I doubt I'll get the seasons anytime soon) - The Fifth Element - FireFly - Galaxy Quest - I Robot - Lost in Space (98) - Star * (have seen Voyager 1-7 5 times) ...as of late I'm turning my focus on TV Series instead of Movies and aim to get as much as possible. |

| Posted: | | | | Xyrano, you are not alone. I've yet to see a single episode of Stargate SG-1 or Atlantis from beginning to end. But I did buy all 9 currently available season sets here in R1 land. Best Buy had a great sale last christmas for them, and I didn't resist. And you know, seeing all the GOOD shows they cancel on TV these days, a series that ran for 10 years can only be exceptional! |

| Posted: | | | | The entire Stargate family is top-notch science fiction made by people who love sci-fi. I've been a sci-fi fan since I was a very small child (something over half a century!) and I would rank SG-1 and Atlantis in a tie for 2nd place right behind Battlestar Galactica. I'm going to really miss the SG-1 crew.
The Season 10 boxset will be out about the 20th of July, give or take. | | | John

| Posted: | | | | Considering your list I'd say you'd like Stargate.
The only catch with this show is, that it is self-repetitive, meaning after the first great enemy dies, the next comes who is more powerful and after that the next and the next ....
But all ind all it's a great show with many exciting episodes and a lot of humor regarding itself and other scifi universes. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | On the Stargate SG-1 front, FOX tells us (GateWorld) that Stargate SG-1: The Complete Tenth Season (coming July 24) will come in special metallic foil packaging with a three-dimensional, embossed Stargate. The company wanted to do something special to mark the end of television's longest-running cable drama.
On another note, the first Stargate SG-1 direct to DVD movie has been pushed back to first half of 2008. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

Somehow that sounds like the german cover: The cover itself has a relief and the picture appears to be 3D. The disadvantage of this kind of package is that you see every fingerprint and it's hard to keep clean. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
