I've ran a search but I only get timeout errors for days if not weeks now if I search for anything else than "Subject only". I'm really sorry if the matter was discussed before! Believe me, it would have saved me from a lot of work looking at credits on my DVDs. And as always, please excuse my english.

I own the Sunset Vampires (Murder World) DVD (UPC: 4-013549-874175).
Electra Avellán is credited there as AVELLAN and was changed correctly to Avellan by the creator of that profile. (BTW - very questionable rule IMHO).

So the crosslinks to my other DVDs with her aren't working and I would like to change her entry to Electra Avallán credited as Electra Avellan. Also I have a lot of profiles where the linking for Elizabeth Avellán, her aunt I think,  doesn't work and I would like to change that, too.

my 'research' so far:

Electra Avellán (actress, afaik twin of Elise):
CLT: Avellan 5/9 - Avellán 10/98
my DVDs: AVELLAN 1 - Avellán 2

Elise Avellán (actress, afaik twin of Electra)
CLT: Avellan 3/7 - Avellán 10/99
my DVD: Avellan 0 - Avellán 2

Elizabeth Avellán (crew, normally producer, afaik aunt of the other two)
CLT: Avellan 34/186 - Avellán 28/190
my DVD: AVELLAN 4 - Avellán 7

my DVD with Avellán or AVELLÁN spelling: Death Proof (all 3), Planet Terror (all 3), Once Upon a Time in Mexico (Elizabeth), Sin City (Elizabeth), From Dusk Till Dawn (Elizabeth, Co-Producer), Desperado (Elizabeth, Co-Producer). El Mariachi (Elizabeth, Associate Producer)

my DVD with AVELLAN spelling: Sunset Vampires aka Murder World (Electra), The Faculty (Elizabeth) Spy Kids 3-D (Elizabeth), From Dusk till Dawn 2+3 (Elizabeth, Co-Producer)

So, if the Grindhouse credits are the same like the single feature versions of Planet Terror and Death Proof, there isn't a single correct entry for Elise being spelled Avellan in the CLT. For Electra the Avellan spelling is only true for the Sunset Vampires aka Murder World DVDs.

It'a a bit more complicated for Elizabeth Avellán, but it's she seems to be always spelled AVELLAN (sadly turning into Avellan) or Avellán. I've NEVER seen Avellan written out on any of my DVD!

Conclusion - IMHO all three woman should be directly spelled Avellán or be in profiles with a "credited as Avellan".

Yes, very. This insane rule is the main cause of non linking actors in local databases, specially when people have many non-English speaking movies.

Let me start with the first, where you could confirm all credits:

Electra Avellán (2 confirmed credit)
Death Proof
Planer Terror

Electra Avellan (1 confirmed)
Life Blood aka Murder World aka Sunset Vampires

As this are all movies with her in database, the current common name is Electra Avellán.

So this is correct:

... I would like to change her entry to Electra Avallán credited as Electra Avellan.

Elise Avellán (2 confirmed)
Death Proof
Planet Terror

Elise Avellan (0 confirmed)

No other movies with her in database, so Elise Avellán is the current common name.

Let me add: sometimes it happens, tha same movie has different credits in a different release. (Don't know an example, but theoretically it can happen) If this would be the numbers can change.

But in this case it looks as a imdb cloning problem.

Normally I hate to be snippy, but with your idea of "doing a bit research" to find the correct name, I'd get Avellan, without accent. Of course I was not watching every site on the web, but those I've seen have all Avellan.

Before collecting the credits for the third one my opinion to this clarification to this rule.

Pro:
- You just enter what you see on screen, no further research has to be done. (Less work)
- Everyone has the possibility to follow this without further knowledge.

Con:
- In French there is the rule that words/names in all-caps lose the accents, so the change to normal capitalization would need correctly the re-addition. (French is the only language I know confirmed)

So if we would translate to normal capitalization, we've got also the problem some user might forget to do a check, because they don't know it's a French name, which would also add mistakes.

-> With the correct usage of the common name and the credited as, there it should be possible to get a correct linking in an easier way than with "correct" names.

I hate to be snippy, too, but I always wrote that the search had to be done in the language of the actor.
I searched on avellan, in spanish language pages, and it took 0,18s to have the result.

BTW, thanks to try to stone me in public, as you love to do...

Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over aka Mission 3D: Game Over

From Dusk Till Dawn (Co-Producer)

6 credits remaining to confirm.

Guess: "4 Histoires de Sin City" is also Sin City and not a kind of documentation or something similar.

All I could confirm are done by Corma, so thanks for any further help in advance.

As you also like to do with me.  (But we all know you are the victim, because you said us this this often)
Edit: Not trying to stone you, just showing what I've seen. (Ok, I could have expect this reaction)

Find this very interesting and want to learn something new: I tried it, but I can't reproduce. So a really honest question: How did you do this?
(Btw, I'd call myself not inexperienced in searching the web. But we should expect more of this from every normal user  )

Well, first of all I thank you for having patience with me on this subject one again.

But with research I didn't meant that I've searched the web. I've watched the credits of 12 of my DVD.

Edit: Almost forgot - Half of Elizabeths credits won't make into to the profiles (and so the CLT), because she wasn't the main producer. That's why I've made clear if she was "only" credited as Co- or Associate-Producer in a movie.

And yes, she is in the FDTD credits, I can upload a screenshot if you wish. Or did you meant "invalid" because of the Co-Producer part?

This wasn't adressed to you. No thanks needed, if I wouldn't have done any other user in the forum would help you.

This is exactly how it should be done. So you found the correct common name for the both sisters with your own data. This matches also with the CLT results, but it could also be different.

Absolutely correct.
In such cases you can to a common name thread similar as the post to Elizabeth. With in this case many overlaping credits for both variants the chance is high the current results aren't correct or much influenced by imdb data. (Or for accented names the missing knowledge of this capitalization clarification by Ken)

Btw, with your confirmations we get a 9 - 9 which shows really some more confirmations are needed.

Co-Producer part makes it invalid for finding the common name.

Only credits which ara allowed for the online database are counted.

Ok, thanks. Tried it with "region" specified to Spain, but with the language setting it's better, but still just 2 of the results with accent.
But found out the problem: The results are different between using Google.fr and Google.de.

Easier way is not a good reason. After all, Deutchland is easier than Deutschland. Would you like that ? Would you be happy to see people asking to add a spelling mistake to your own name ????

And please, when we see the number of common names threads, with many that have not yet allowed to get the result, do not speak of easier way...
