I truly hope that you can help me with regard to a purchase I have made.  This purchase came from a 3rd party seller at Walmart.com several days ago.  I tried to Search the UPC# at all the major search engines and came up empty, no one has ever heard of this particular release.  Is this legitimate, a mod release, or is it bootleg?  Do I need to return it to the seller through Walmart and demand my money back?  Please help me determine that this is legitimate or a bootleg.

The 100: The Seventh and Final Season
UPC# 8 83929 86952 7

It's somewhat strange that Googling for 883929869527 doesn't yield a single result, but it does match Warner Bros.' regular UPC-range, matching with the DVD releases of the previous seasons and with other Warner Bros. DVD releases from the same period. The cover looks legit to me as well. Do the discs seem pressed, or burned?

I once picked up a very convincing copy of Stargate Universe Season 2 from a 3rd party seller (from Play before it became Rakuten).

The discs looked legit, with printed images on them, but the things that let it down were the cover, which had a slight blur to it and was printed on thin paper not card stock, the fact it had none of the subtitles that were listed on the cover. But what iniitially made me suspicious was the freezes and skips that kept happening.

What made you suspicious of this title?

I have found a site listing a blu-ray release that's manufactured on demand, with Warner Archives listed as the studio (who do release on demand stuff) which might explain it.

What made me suspicious of this title was my complete inability to find anything about it on the internet.  Seemingly, the barcode doesn't exist, the image that's on the front/back of this cover is odd (notice the front looks enlarged compared to the accepted release?), but doesn't look blurry or otherwise bootleg.

I even emailed Warner Bros. to ask them if this is a MOD release or is it bootleg?  Not sure I'll ever hear from them...

Not only that, DVD Profiler has the DVD children for this release, but I couldn't find a DVD parent for it (very weird), regardless of release.

Other than my inability to find anything about it on the internet, this release looks professional.  The cover paper feels right, the discs look right, I've only plugged in Disc 1 so far but it looked professional as well (except for the lack of any previews, which isn't necessarily odd for the later seasons of this show).

I wish I could find a definitive answer before I create a profile to submit to Invelos/DVD Profiler.

I'm in the process of putting this contribution together.  Is there anything special I need to do for a MOD release?

There is an existing, official MOD release, but it has a different UPC (8-83929-72304-1)

Re: Different UPC# - That's why I've had so much trouble finding any information on this release.  I've since found each disc is stamped warnerarchive.com, so I went to Warner Archive, found this season there, but very little useful information.  I know it's a MOD release, but all I know beyond that is what I've gathered from the physical release, and what little bit I've managed to gather from online.

I'm going to submit what I have, I hope it's approved.

What's interesting is the 30000 series number below the barcode.  This is a document identifier number that is unique to that document/artwork; e.g. the wrap and the associated slipcover would have different numbers.  What is a bit odd is the last five digits of this number (3000089652) is almost identical to the digits 6-11 of the UPC (883929[86952]7) but with those two digits flipped.  Maybe a coincidence but I've never seen another Warner release with those 5 digits matching up so closely.  It does make me wonder if it's a bootleg.

Given Warner released a MOD release in the US, it's very unlikley that they would have released another version and it would have gone unnoticed especially if this version is only showing up on eBay.

But I didn't buy it on Ebay, I bought it at Walmart.com.  The barcode doesn't yield any results at Ebay.

A duckduckgo search using the UPC did turn up a single result for ebay and a couple of East Asian sites, but clicking through all returned page not found results.

As for buying through Walmart as it was a third party seller it could still be a pirated version, BUT the reality is nobody can really prove anything either way, so personally I'd leave it in the hands of Invelos to decide whether to accept it or not. Given the program is pretty much on life support it's not going to change anything either way.

My apologies about eBay, but it could still be a similar situation from a third-party seller from any of the merchant sites.  eBay does show a listing also with this UPC albeit from a non-US location. The funny thing is that Walmart doesn't retrieve anything for UPC 883929869527 so I wonder if that third-party vendor sold this copy under the profile for the MOD release?

As for the children, do those profiles show the UPC on this release on the cover art?  The reason I ask is because there is a legitimate MOD release that we know of so could those children be related to that release?

When I scanned the discs (children), no profile info was attached to them, no cover art, no UPC, they were blank slates which I filled in with the information I could acquire.
