Star Trek the Next Generation Complete Series.

I think the problem is interpretation.

There are very few reasons you would create the equivalent of a box set'

1.  Multiple movies in one case (true box set)
2. A bonus movie that is included with the main (Think 2008 version of the Day the earth stood still, which included the 1951 version as a bonus) (Bonus Feature Film Rule)
3. Single Movie, multiple media (applies as bonus feature film)
4 the addition of bonus material in a box set as long as the bonus disc pertains to more than 1 movie

I downloaded and looked at the profile that you mention.  It contains the Feature on disc 1 and then has 2 bonus discs.

In my opinion, by a strict interpretation of the rules, this does not qualify in any of the above scenarios.

The box set should be removed.  In the disc section list all 3 discs, and put the features into the feature section of the profile.

There should not be a need of an original titles for the disc profile, because the disc level profile is not necessary.

Isn't Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures the primary theatrical distributor in the US for Disney/Pixar/Marvel (newer)/Lucas films (newer)?

AND Shouldn't most of the releases show that as the first studio in the profile. (as long as reference is made in the credits or can be proven otherwise)?

For Example

Incredibles 2 currently shows Disney, Pixar Animation Studios

Shouldn't it be Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Disney, Pixar Animation studios.

In the end credits it does show distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

I have to agree with the naysayers.

I go back to the digital copy.  The only reason we include the DC tag, is if it is actually included with he purchase.  There are many movies that are on VUDU or Movies Anywhere or others that have available DC of movies that I do not own.

Since it was something that wasn't included with purchase, tehn It should not be included with the profile.

Though, you may start a pinned thread to cover the movies that have D-box available, therefore the info would be available to the people that read the forums..

My opinion...your mileage may vary...

I am personally not a fan of carrying parent editions to the child.

You could end up with things like (Archive Collection:Directors cut) or arguing (Directors Cut: Archive collection)  There are many boxsets in which the children are special cuts as labeled on the disks itself.

Personally, even though I already received the item, I would go with the published release date.

If we were to use amazon shipping as the source, then I would have to submit that the release date was Oct 28.  That is when I received it and that is what Amazon tracking says.  I would also need to go back and alter many profiles, for I have received a number of films a day or two earlier than the published date (shipping variances).

My vote, WB published date (even over Amazon or Bluray.com (or any other information site)

Deadpool2 was a bad choice.

The other one declined was not for j-card, it was for color issues..

This is something that technically is not in the rules (as unfortunately are a lot of other issues), but your opinion matters more than others here.

I get it.  I'm done arguing about this, it is now your DB...

Most j-cards also have the title on them, something that is not printed on the steelbook cover.

As far as the back cover, why do you include that, it is not printed on the steelbook, therefore, why include that?

There are many times that that j-card has the edition on it also.

024543458999 (Kingsman: Golden Circle: Limited Edition Steelbook) is on the J-Card

786936859706 (Limited Edition Steelbook) on the J-Card

024543556336 (Super Duper $@%!#& Cut: Collectible Steelbook) on the J-card

I am going to try this again, I did not get much of a reply from last time.

Steelbooks typically have a paper j card that wraps over the top.  The front is usually just the media format of the enclosed disks, but sometimes has other information, like an edition.

The back is typically a full cover, with all the information typically found on the rear of a slip cover, or case insert.

There is a contribution that I made, scanned image with the jcard in place on the front, therefore exposing the 4k UHD banner.  This is the way that I have always submitted my scans.

There were 2 no votes (out of 5) that said that the banner should not be in place.  I do not see anything addressing this in the rules,  What say you..

Issue 2.  The rear image with the J-card.  I have always scanned with the j-card in place in the steelbook, but have wondered  whether this should be the correct way.  I think the image would look better (and be easier to scan) if the j-card was scanned without the underlying steelbook.  The underlying steelbook does not add any information, just makes the image look cluttered.  What say you.

Looking for opinions on both issues...

Thanx

Charlie
